Freezer paper t's for Christmas

I have the sweetest little niece, and I know that clothes are always appreciated as a gift, but why not make the clothing a little more spunky and little more one of a kind? I came across a technique called freezer paper t's. If you google you can find many tutorials. Basically you cut out a stencil with freezer paper (shiny side down), iron the freezer paper onto the garment (shiny side down), Then stencil in with fabric pain. Once the paint is dry, peel off freezer paper or contact paper gently and then iron to heat set. Remember to wash and dry inside out.

Here is my version, I found some plain white contact paper at the dollarama near my house. Contact paper is that sticky paper used to cover shelves in the kitchen. I loaded it into my cricut (stencils could be done by hand) and cut out a hibiscus flower and the letter T, applied to t-shirt and then stencil painted. I choose to use acrylic paint with textile medium rather than fabric paint, it was cheaper and I had more colour choices.

I just have to heat set the paint now with an iron and then wrap up and see what she thinks when she opens it on Christmas.
